Wood and Laminate Flooring Repairs
Flooring is an obvious area where damage can occur due to impact damage caused by a solid object coming into contact with a semi hard surface. In addition, scratches and gouges can occur when furniture or similar objects are dragged across the floor.
Almost all hard surface flooring including Laminate, engineered wooden flooring, slate, stone and tiling can be brought back to excellent condition. As with other surfaces it is critical that the base below the flooring is sound and that the repaired surface is fully supported and will not flex otherwise a crack or other problem will reappear as the surface moves.

Can a hole or dent be repaired in solid or engineered hardwood flooring?
Yes, this can be repaired using epoxy fillers that provide a hardwearing repair, this then has wood grain added to further blend in and sealed to provide the final finish.
Can a split or large crack in a laminate floor be repaired?
This is dependent up how the crack occurred and whether it is still moving? If it was caused by water damage and the flooring has now dried out, a crack can be filled and grain applied to disguise the defect, however if there is still movement which caused the damage any repair will fail as the laminate moves. This would be similar for solid wood flooring.
Are there situations where floors cannot be repaired?
If there is ongoing movement within the floor or below it which causes the floor to flex, any repair will fail at some point due to the adhesion between the repair & the floor being broken by the movement.
